Mount Stuart House
Mount Stuart House and Gardens are located on the beautiful Isle of Bute. Bute is only 33 miles from Glasgow. It is the most accessible of the westerly isles from the Scottish Central Belt. It’s a peaceful island haven, just a stone’s throw away from the mainland.
The spirit of nineteenth-century invention is embodied in Mount Stuart – a feat of Victorian engineering, this neo-gothic mansion was one of the most technologically advanced houses of its age. Ironic, when you consider the medieval inspiration of the Gothic Revival. Set in 300 acres of grounds which include designed gardens, woodland and coast, Mount Stuart is a once in a lifetime experience unlike no other.

Mount Stuart is a spectacular architectural masterpiece that, through ingenious design and innovation, lends itself to being the perfect Scottish wedding venue. From the moment that the house appears through the trees, on your journey down Carriage Drive, you are astonished by the structure itself. The attention to detail on this unique building is to the highest standard. However your initial viewing of the exterior of the building cannot prepare you for what lies beyond the main entrance situated under the porte-cochère.
Your Drinks Reception
Following your ceremony, greet your guests for the first time as a married couple in the relaxed atmosphere of the Drawing Room or in the sunshine on the Front Lawn. Treat your guests to a tour of the house, collections or gardens with one of Mount Stuart’s experienced staff whilst you utilise the unrivalled backdrop of the house and grounds for your photographs.
Your Wedding Breakfast
The Marble Hall is the heart of the house and therefore the perfect space for you and your guests to celebrate the rest of your special day. Soaring to a height of 80 feet and constructed from rare Italian and Sicilian marble and alabaster the Marble hall combines astrological decoration with the luxurious palaces of Greece. Your guests will be literally seated beneath the stars as the vaulted ceiling is replete with the stars in their courses and ethereal figures each representative of their constellation.
